Standard statement

The Agency has a written directive, in accordance with current law, regarding the release of information and open records requests, and provides training to appropriate employees.

Each bullet must stand alone when establishing compliance, with proofs identified for every lettered requirement.

2. b.Department policy should clearly address what information in police reports is releasable and what is not to be released. The policy should also address who is responsible for releasing information and/or responding to open records requests.
3. c.While a higher level of training is always encouraged, the training portion of this standard may be met by showing that officers have received and signed for a copy of the policy.
