Chapter 9. Jail / Detention Facilities

Standard statement

If there is a detention facility within the agency; a written directive governs policies

Each bullet must stand alone when establishing compliance, with proofs identified for every lettered requirement.

  1. a.and procedures for providing a safe and secure living environment to all inmates
  2. b.housed in the facility to include:
  3. c.Staffing during normal, vacation, sickness, relief, and
  4. d.shift duty 24 hours per day. Based on Mississippi Code 19-25-75 (Guards for Jail)
  5. e.Communication between officers. Based on Mississippi Code 19-5-5 (Radios)
  6. f.Detention Officers assignment to same sex gender. (Based on Mississippi Code 45-5-121 (Separation of Sexes) and Mississippi Code 19-25-71 (Sheriff to serve as jailer and maintain separate rooms for sexes).
